Colliers' Row no longer exists, but, since Tredegar has seen a radical
rebuilding programme in recent years, that is not surprising. It certainly
did exist and features in documentation on the Chartist rebellion as the
site of a pub called the Red Lion. The only pub of that name I know in
Tredegar now is the (renamed) Old Red Lion (previously Red Lion) in Queen
Victoria St. Street names change, of course. Behind it I recall some
pretty ruggid housing, including something we called the Doss House, but
this goes back to the 1950s. There may be a connection here, but the Red
Lion of the Chartist period may have been quite different.
I'm sorry I can't offer more, but, when I have time, I'll have a go at the
census record which should reveal exactly where Colliers Row was once you've
worked out the itinerary followed.
Best wishes
Alan Lloyd (ex-Tredegar resident)

Subject: [BLAENAUGWENT] Colliers Row, Tredegar
Would anyone know where in Tredegar I may find Colliers Row? If it no
longer exists does anyone know where in Tredegar the street was? Thank you
Rob
