I am trying to trace the family of a William John MORGAN-not an easy
task with these common names, I know! He was born about 1897, son of
Edward MORGAN (born 20th Dec 1875 at 7 The Evans, Rhmney) & Annie
Jane CLYMOW (3 May 1874 of Kea, Cornwall). We know that William was
living in Tredegar & that he wrote a letter to the Rev L EVANS on 6th
March 1942, regarding the early death (in Birmingham) of his young
brother Harold PERCIVAL aged 32, 6 weeks later in 1942.
We know also that William MORGAN was assistant organist at St James,
Tredegar & Sunday school secretary & also organist at St David's
Troed y Rhiw, GLA. His father Edward was clerk, sexton & Layreader at
St James & was granted a 25 year service award.
I thought that the family's church service might have provided some
details of his family & was interested in the book by Wyndham
SCANDRETT "The Parish of St James, Tredegar, Vols 1 & 2", but find
that this book is no longer available. Would anyone know where I
might acquire it, or whether there are any references to our MORGAN
family in it, which might help in tracing the wife & family of
William MORGAN. We have details about the families of his younger
brother Harold Percival & also of his sister Elizabeth Agnes.
I hope someone will be able to suggest some ideas about how I might proceed
