I am looking for an Edward Maddy and possibly a mother and father living with him called Evan Maddy and Margaret Watkins Maddy. I have Evan and Margaret's Marriage Certificate in 1795 but have not been able to link them with Edward Maddy. Edward Maddy was married to Gwladys in 1825 at Aberystruth Church. If anyone out there has any information relating to any of them in 1841 I should be grateful. I have found Edward on later Censuses but it is his mother and father I am looking for and any siblings.

Here I am back again like a bad penny.
I'm having 2 weeks off in March/April (Wife in respite care) and I want to spend time with records for Trevethin, Bedwellty and Mon. in general.
So a simple task if you would please be so kind -
A) Where is the record office for the area?
B) Does a guide exist for B & B small hotels etc. in the area.
Address and/or details would be most gratefully received if any of you kind, helpful souls can give me such info.
Thanks in advance

Josi, Trevethin is a administration/ecclesiastic area that covers many parts
of Pontypool in Monmouthshire. The Parish church is St. Cadoc's and the area
around Pontypool was a major industrial area at the time! Unfortunately, I
cannot help with the name search, other than to suggest, if you have his
age, perhaps a check of the St. Catherines Index might be of some help! Roy

Can anyone on the list help me to find pictures/old photos of Blaina Iron

of a model of the area at the end of the 19th Century.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

They are all for the Parish Church in Bedwellty.
I have December 25th, 1850, John Rees and Martha
Powell of full age, resident at Tredegar, fathers
names, Rofser (probably Rosser) Rees and William
Powell.
21st Feb, 1852, William Harris age 25 and Ann James

and Thomas James.
December 24th, 1856? 1858?, Frederick Milner age 26

Hello June,
Since Stephen and Ann were born in Talybont, which is right on the River
Usk, SE of the Town of Brecon, I'm sure you'll want a look at the church
records for that area.
Talybont fell in the parish of Llanddeti (sounds like Llanthetty). You
can order the microfilmed Bishop's Transcripts 1714-1845 from your
nearest Latter Day Saints Family History Center. For about $3.75 (US)/
per film, you can view the film at the center for 30-90 days. You will
need the film number when you go:
LDS Film No. 104485 Item No. 4
You'll probably also want to look at the census records for 1861 as well
to see the families who are hopefully still there at the time. That film
is:
LDS Film No. 543252
The centers are very friendly and I cannot even imagine how I would have
gone about doing the hard work of finding my families without the benefit
of the LDS films.
