Harold,
I'm not responding for Chris, but noticed you have Morgans and BlaenAvon
in your Welsh family.
I have Dando's from Blaen Avon. They settled in Allegany County
Maryland. Morgans were good friends of my Dando's, both Welsh.
Where did your Morgans end up?

I have been tracing my family tree for a couple of years. And my SIL(L)MAN
ancestors lived in the Blaina, Nantyglo, Llanelly Hill area's from the
beginning of the 1850's. Having moved from Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. My
G-Grandfather was killed in a mining accident at stoneslope mine in 1915. He
had 10 children one of them James was my grandfather. I have a lot of dates
etc., but would now like "to put some flesh onto the bones" as the saying
goe's.

Hi All
Reposting original message as I have again received a lot of requests for
the e-mail address.
A friend gave me a contact who is indexing the BDM from the Free Press of
Mon. To date he has 30000 names from 1859 - 1926. The indexing is being done
on behalf of the Friends of the Gwent Record Office. A fee is charged to
search for and provide the references, proceeds to the FofGRO.
The details for 14 births, 38 marriages and 215 deaths for 4 of the names
I'm looking for cost me 12 pounds including postage.
Anyone wanting his e-mail please let me know
Cheers
Chris
To Chris:
I must have missed your post about the Free Press in Monmouthshire. Are the back
issues accessible to someone outside Wales? Would you mind repeating (or sending me)
the info about this?

Hi everyone,
I have a g-uncle, Thomas W LLOYD, who was a member and keen player. He died
17 May 1911, and was survived by his wife, Sarah (?), nee PURNELL, and 4
children - Lily, Lottie, William G, and Thomas A.
Any links to members of the family, and their descendants, would be
appreciated.
Any information on Thomas' cricketing gratefully received - I have a photo
of the 1907 team which may have him in it - my gfather is in it.

I am researching the BUTCHER family in Co. Monmouthshire Wales. Benjamin
BUTCHER born c. 1787 married to Sarah WALDEN born c. 1794 . Married at
Blaenavon Dec. 6, 1814. Had the following children at Garndiffaith: Mary
1815, John 1825, Martha 1827, Benjamin 1830, Rebecca 1834, Elizabeth
1836, Rebecca 1839. Mary may have had an illegitimate son, William
Butcher, who married Johanna POWELL in 1860. Johanna was the daughter of
Jospeh POWELL born c. 1816 at Kendle and Jane JONES born c. 1820 at
Talgarth, Breaconshire. Any connections or information welcome. Details

Hi Jennifer: I'm responding to the name Hitchings. In the IGI for
Monmouthshire. I have a brother of my grandmother listed as Tom Hitchings
Bennett. He was born Feb 1881 in Caerleon to Alfred Bennett and Elizabeth
Williams. I wondered at the time if the middle name was kept from a surname on
the maternal side of one of the ancestors, as the Scots do. None of the other
names ring a bell unfortunately.
