JOHNSTONE, Male - B2/8/1849 - At Minnigaff Manse, on the 2d inst., the
wife of the Rev. M. S. Johnstone, of a son.
MAITLAND, Female - B26/7/1849 - At Hawkeswood, in the neighbourhood of New
York, on the 26th ult., the lady of Stuart C. Maitland, Esq., yr of
Dundrennan, of a daughter.
CRAIK, Male - B17/8/1849 - At Newton Stewart, on the 17th inst., the wife
of Mr Craig, draper, of a son.
ASHLEY, Male - B8/8/1849 - On the 8th instant, the Lady Ashley, of a son.
M'CRAE, William - D19/8/1849 - Here, at Charlotte Street, on the 19th
instant, Mr William M'Crae, mason, aged 81 years.
M'CRAE, Captain Hugh - D19/8/1849 - Here, at Clayhole, on the 19th
instant, Captain Hugh M'Crae, aged 57 years.
M'CAA, Mrs - D8/8/1849 - At Cree Bridge, on the 8th instant, Mrs M'Caa,
widow of William M'Caa, Esq., late of Barnshalloch.
RUSSELL, Mr - D15/8/1849 - At Creetown, on the 15th instant, at an
advanced age, Mr Russell, tidewaiter there.
CRAWFORD/MURRAY, Elizabeth - D5/8/1849 - At Girvan, on the 5th current,
Elizabeth Murray, relict of the late William Crawford, Esq.
HANNAY, Annie - D18/8/1849 - At Maybole, on the 18th current, after a long
and severe illness, Annie, aged 21 years, youngest daughter of the late
William Hannay, Esq., writer, Maybole.
ARMOUR, James - D11/8/1849 - At Mauchline, on the 11th inst., Mr James
Armour, eldest brother of Mrs Burns, widow of the Bard, in the 84th year
of his age.
GILLESPIE, Anna Lockhart - D11/8/1849 - At Nithbank, Dumfries, on the 11th
instant, Miss Anna Lockhart Gillespie, daughter of the Rev. John
Gillespie, minister of Kells, as warmly beloved in life as she is now
deeply and sincerely regretted.
MILROY, Jane Douglas - D18/8/1849 - At Bogue, parish of Dalry, on the 18th
August at halfpast four o'clock morning, Jane Douglas Milroy, Grennan,
parish of Kirkmaiden, much lamented by a wide circle of friends and
