ROBERTSON, William - M23/4/1850 - At Ardrossan, on the 23d ultimo, by the
Rev. James Eller, Saltcoats, Mr William Robertson, foreman engineer of the
Ardrossan Railway, to Martha, third daughter of Mr William M'Credie, of
BROWN, John Gordon - M22/4/1850 - At Ardwall, Kirkcudbrightshire, on the
22d ultimo, by the Rev. Mr Smith, John Gordon Brown, Esq., Liverpool, to
Janet, second daughter of James Murray Macculloch, Esq., of Ardwall.
BARBOUR, David Shaw - M25/4/1850 - At St. Pancras, London, on the 25th
ultimo, by the Rev. John Forster, David Shaw, second son of the late James
Barbour, Esq., of Dunmuir House, Castle Douglas, to Eliza, youngest
daughter of the late Robert Jackson, Esq., of Ulverston, Lancashire.
Macdouall, George B. - D10/4/1850 - Suddenly, much and justly regretted,
on board the Indus steamer, off Malta on the morning of the 10th April,
George B. Macdouall, Esq., late Superintending Surgeon at H.I.C.M.S.
LAIRD, James - D28/4/1850 - At Carlyle Place, Paisley, on the 28th ultimo,
Mr James Laird, Sneddon Foundry.
M'CREA/GIBSON, Euphemia - D28/4/1850 - At High Clachan, parish of
Kirkcolm, on the 28th ultimo, Euphemia Gibson, relict of Mr James M'Crea,
farmer, Ervie, aged 74 years.
MILROY, Jessie - D19/4/1850 - At Lochans village, on the 19th ultimo,
after 10 days' illness, Jessie Milroy, daughter of Mr John Milroy,
millwright there, of dysentry, aged 17 years.
M'WILLIAM, Samuel - D27/4/1850 - At Wigtown, on the 27th ultimo, Mr Samuel
McWilliam, burgess, aged 78 years.
GRIERSON, William - D25/4/1850- - At Torhousemuir, Wigtown, on the 25th
ultimo, Mr William Grierson, schoolmster, aged 30 years; - he was long in
the army, and held a pension; - his health for a long period had been
feeble, but he bore his affliction with Christian patience and
M'BRYDE, Henry - D25/4/1850 - At Mochrum Kirk, on the 25th ult., Mr Henry
M'Bryde, aged 36.
MUIRHEAD, Charles - D5/4/1850 - At Logan, parish of Buittle, on the 5th
ultimo, after a short illness, Charles Muirhead, Esq., of Logan, aged 28.
FINLAY, John - D11/4/1850 - At Girvan, on the 11th ultimo, John, aged 19
years, eldest son of the late Mr Finlay, baker, Newton, Ayr.
TOTTENHAM, The Right Reverend and Right Hon. Lord Robert - D26/4/1850 -
Died in Ireland, on Friday night, the 26th ultimo, of inflammation of the
chest and liver, from cold, the Right Reverend and Right Hon.Lord Robert
Tottenham, Lord Bishop of Clogher, only brother of the late Marquis of
Ely: The bishoprick of Clogher merges in the primacy.
CARTWRIGHT, Thomas - D17/4/1850 - Letters from Stockholm mention the death
of Sir Thomas Cartwright, her Britannic Majesty's Minister at the Court of
Sweden, which took place suddenly on the night of the 17th April.
PIERS, Bart. Sir Samuel Henry - D15/4/1850 - Sir Samuel Henry Piers,
Bart., died on the 15th ult., at Tristenvagh, county of Westmeath,
Ireland, aged 37. He had but a short time succeeded his uncle, Sir John
