The 1998 Department of Justice index print-out that I have does NOT appear
to have this chap. It has two Charles BROWN deaths, but at Hobart & New
Norfolk. Can anyone assist with TAMIOT, other press notices etc. to locate
an age for him??? He just might be my lost one who was born in 1863.
The Advocate 4th May 1904
The funeral took place at Devonport yesterday of the late Mr. Charles Brown,
who died in the Launceston Hospital after a weeks illness after coming from
one of the East Coast lighthouses, of which he was the keeper. The body was
brought down by the midday train from Launceston and interred at the Bluff
Cemetery, The Rev. Canon De Coetlogon performing the last sad rites.
Deceased was well known at Devonport, having married a Miss Laycock, a
former resident of the town, who is left widowed with a young family.
Thanks in advance of any help
