Thank you Maurice, The games we played as kids are now almost a thing of the
past, hopscotch, marbles,
skipping etc., they were of cause in my lifetime, but I think there were
some now lost ones from our grandfather's and grandmother's days.
I will add rack stick to my list.

My grand father, Harry Barnes, lived and worked in Queenstown during
late 1890s. His obituary mentioned that he played "rack stick" a form of
testing one's strength at that time. I have no idea how it was played,
Irene, but it was clearly one of those sports that was popular in
Tasmania one hundred years ago.
