My wife's uncle was born in South Africa about 1912, and family
anecdotal history has it that, when his mother died soon after his
birth, he and his 10 year old sister were brought back to Tasmania to
be cared for by family members.
As he was South Arican by birth, would he have had to be naturalized
at some later stage of his life ? (I should mention that the mother
was born in Australia, and the father in Scotland).
Your advice would be appreciated.
