It looks as if John Dell and his wife Sarah returned to England- date
unknown at this stage.
There is a baptism for a George Dell on 10th July 1813 at St George's
Middlesex- parents John Dell, sawyer and Sarah. George's Dob is recorded as
4 June 1805 Sydney NSW. This fits
Then George marries in 1870 to Jane Geal in Middlesex.
There is an 1861 Census record for Sth Hackney, Middlesex which has George
Dell aged 55, marine artist, born Sydney New South Wales wife Jane aged 41
and the following children Sarah aged 20, William aged 11, Alfred aged 7,
Florence 4 and Constance 3 mths
If this is your George, he and his partner Jane had babies before they
There is a Probate notice for a George Dell who died in 1873, builder,
Middlesex, widow Jane. Don't know yet whether this is your correct man.
