Just a factual observation.
I am not entering into the argument of the births discussed on this list,
but I am here to say births to women in their 50's happened in previous
I have a distant cousin whose father was born in NSW in 1904 to his 51 year
old mother. She died when he was 10.
His parents were married in 1872 and he was the last of thirteen children.
He was of an age when proof of identity when filling in certain forms was
just starting to come in and apparently he needed it for his work.
He told his family he was so fed up with people doubting his parentage and
date of birth, that he ended up carrying the birth certificates of both he
and his mother in his wallet to prove it when filling in forms.

Birth records from the past simply do not support argument that women had
children into their 50's. Possible, yes, but as I said , not likely.
Perhaps modern day medical assisted births are a separate matter.
What, unfortunately, is common are mistakes made on Genealogical sites that,
if copied, can replicate the errors. I was simply pointing out this matter
to hopefully assist those researching the particular lady in question.

As there are already a lot tackling this thread, I havent worried about
having a go, but your comment about it not being likely Ann would be having
a child aged 54 and 56. Most woman in this day and age, wouuld stop well
before, but it is possible to still have children at that age. We do se
eit in the news these days. Film starsa dn I believe the oldest lady in
the news just a few short years ago was past 60,there was a lot of hoo aah
about it at the time, saying poor child, how she wouldn't have her mum when
she needed her. Can't you remember that?
Some of the large families we know happened all of the time back then, the
mothers would have been easily that age. There were a lot of woman who
hadn't married til later and late starters. Have you also never heard of a
change of life baby?
