There are a couple of William Hewson convicts that don't fit the information
that you have. There is a William HUSON convict who arrived on the Canton
12 Jan 1840, age 18, native place Liverpool and it looks like his trade was
Wheel Wright. The links to the records available online at the AOT are

of the Church of England and Ireland by Banns with consent of "Not stated."
Witnesses: Jane Walker, John Evans, additional witness William Terry.
The certificate is a typed transcription, not an original.
William Hewson, wheelwright, father Nathan Hewson, wheelwright. Died 7th
May, 1864, Honeysuckle Point, 43 years. Born in Liverpool, England. About 21
years in Australia - 7 in NSW, 14 in Tasmania. Married Newtown, Tasmania
aged 31 years to Anne Kelly. Children of marriage: Fanny, 11, Frederick, 9,
Mary, 7, Nathan, 5, Sydney, 3 and 1 male deceased.
The above information leads me to conclude William Hewson probably arrived
in Tasmania c1843 and was born c1821
