Trying to get a handle on George Davis who was a leasee of the the Govt lime Kilns at New
Town between 1835-1840. He was partnered by W cleary for part of the time then John Allan
until 1838. He held the lease by himself up until at least Feb of 1840 then he fades out.
I've scoured the NLA beta papers for any clues and know a fair bit about him. What
I'm trying to find out is his age, if he was a free arrival or if he had any other
professions. Most of the references I've got won't give me such a clue.
Has anyone come across him in any other documentation that I might have overlooked??
