Dear Australian friends,
Please excuse me for an off-subject request. I tutor in an adult literacy
program. My student is a young man in his 30s who has little knowledge of
the world around him because of his reading disabilities. He is working very
hard and doing very well. I have incorporated some geography and social
studies into his reading program. He knows that Australia is a continent and
is also one country, which intrigues him. I can't imagine how thrilled he
would be to hear from someone from "Down Under". If any of you is
interested, would you send me an e-mail with a little information about your
area's history, geography or anything about your country which might interest
someone with no knowledge of it. His name is Michael Thayer.
By the way, we are sure enjoying your Olympics.
Thank you for your time!
