Thomas Maloney was assigned to work for Thomas Leeson (Lisson).
Thomas Leeson was sentenced at the Old Bailey in 1792 to be transported for 7
years. He was committed for stealing a hamper of empty wine bottles. He
arrived in Australia in 1792 on the "Royal Admiral". Hannah Leeson (his
mother) was sentenced at the Old Bailey on 15 September 1790 to be
transported for seven years. She came as a convict on the "Mary Anne" which
was part of the 3rd Fleet, arriving in 1791.Thomas was granted 30 acres of
land in 1799 and settled in Mulgrave, Hawkesbury. Thomas married Ann Bradwell
(a convict who arrived in Australia on the "Experiment"). The couple had
several convicts working for them over the years including Thomas Harris,
John Watson, Thomas Allen and Thomas Maloney.
Four years after arriving in Australia Thomas Maloney was granted a
Conditional Pardon by Governor Macquarie on 5th June 1815.
