Jill / All,
The hotel is on the corner of Lower Fort and Windmill Street's and know the
licensee, a really nice fellow.
There is a tunnel that lead from the hotel down to near the waters edge.
This is where ( as the story goes ) drunken men were abducted from the
hotel, taken through the tunnel and loaded onto ships to crew them. By the
time they were untied the ships were out to sea and they could not escape.
I wonder how many 'lost' relatives disappeared this way? I have some Jpegs
of the hotel if anyne is interested.
email me off list if so.

Good morning Listers,
On this day in Sydney:
Australia gets its first legal hotel, the "Hero of Waterloo".
It is still there to day in the Rocks and I understand trading well.
