There are a couple of references to Bullen in the Colonial Secretaries Index
on the NSW State Library website.
Ann Bullen Age 24 & husband Vessel 'Harriet" 1853
Anne Bullen Age 9 Vessel 'Speedy' 1855
both under the heading Assisted Immigrants to Sydney and Newcastle 1844-1859
There is also a John Bullen on the CSreland 1846 and a reference to John
Bullen per "Recovery" 1819. With a side comment saying see John BULLER.
This may be of no help whatsoever except that it suggests that Bullen has
previously been recorded as Buller. You could try searching under that name
as well and see if anything turns up.
Best of luck.
