I am searching for the records of my gg grandmother who was transported
to Hobart in 1838 on the Nautilus. She then appears in Sydney in 1842/3
as the mother of Timothy James Jess born 1843 and two other children
both daughters. The father of these children is James Jess. She
disappears for the rest of the 1840's until appearing in the Sydney
Gazette as being released from Gaol for drunkeness. There is no Death
recorded that I can find. Her children eventually live in Bega with
their father james jess.
I can't find any record of her travelling to Sydney. She was granted a
Pardon in 1847 from Hobart.
Hoping for a breakthrough.
