Hi Judy:
I don't have PhotoElements, but in Adobe Photoshop, there is a check box
when you get to the save window that says "Use lower case extension"
You might see if that same checkbox appears in PhotoElements.
As a last resort, ws_ftp has a check box in "Session Options" that says
"Force lower case remote file names". No matter how the file name looks on
my computer, the complete file name goes to rootsweb as lower case and I
create my web pages with that in mind.
Using both upper and lower cases in file names is a real headache when you
are trying to de-bug a web page. pic.jpg and pic.JPG are synonymous in
Windows, but they are two different animals on rootsweb's servers.
BTW, you might send a message to archives-cc-l-request(a)rootsweb.com to
subscribe.
Quoting Judy Banja <jbanja(a)msn.com>:
Help! My new photo editing program uses caps for the file extension
names. (Could be Window XP using caps, actually.) Is that going to be a
problem if the filenames are ***.JPG instead of ***.jpg?
If so, is there a way to change the setting in XP or Adobe PhotoElements?
Or is there a way to globally change a bunch of file names?
Thanks,
Judy Banja
