Death Certificate Revision
Ancestral Trails had heard rumors and even information published in
exchange quarterlies indicating the parents names are going to be deleted
from Kentucky Death Certificates. The only source for this information quoted
is the DAR. Ancestral Trails checked with state officials responsible and
this is their official response indicating such rumors are false.

"As the State Registrar of Vital Statistics I would like to reassure
everyone that we will not remove the parents name from the death
certificates. I don't know where the DAR got this information but it is
untrue. The standard death certificate is up for review for changing, but the
parents are still on the standard certificate."
"Approximately every ten years we revise the certificates. We have not
addressed what or what will not be on the new revision. The current
certificate is serving our need appropriately therefore I do not think there
will be any major changes to the death certificate. You may quote me if you
like, in addition you can have the DAR contact me at
barbara.white(a)mail.state.ky.us or call me at 502-564-4212, Ext. 220 or write
me at Office of Vital Statistics, 275 East Main Street, Frankfort, KY 40621."
