Looking for the birth record of Paul LeBlanc (JB -Marguerite Celestin dit Bellemere). Apparently he was born in France and married in LA to M Marguerite Godet (Joseph-Marguerite Bourgeois).
Paul's previous 5 sibs were born at Belle-Isle-en-Mer and from DGFA his father died at Chantenay in 1782; but even though his sibs can be found on 1785 ships' lists, I can not find Paul or his mother on the lists.
I'm trying to find the Acadian connections for Adele Babin bn c1816 m. David T Ross bn c1805 VA. They were in the census records of Iberville Parish 1840-1870. Most of their children came to New Iberia in mid 1860's. Adele was in 1880 census New Orleans as widow with youngest daughter Lucy. She was in the 1900 census Lafayette with family of her granddaughter Maude Boas.
Any help appreciated
Do you mean the Basile Prejean who married Marie Josephe Godin dit Lincour
(in her second marriage)? She was an ancestor of mine.
On the 1766 census in Cabahannocer, Louisiana, Basile was age 22, so born
around 1744. By 1777 he was listed as age 33.
His father was Joseph Prejean, definitely born in Port Royal, Acadia, and
on the 1701 census there. Basile's mother Marie Louise Comeau was also born
in Acadia. From this I assume that in 1744 Basile was also born there in
Could Catrina Tregle be the same woman as the Catherine Tregle who married
Ponce Laseigne in 1779 at Edgard, St. John the Baptist, LA? He died in
1794 and maybe she remarried?

Another ship with the last group of 100 recruits (and their families) were delayed because of the war between England and Spain. They had to stay over in Cuba for the duration, where a number of them died. They finally arrived in 1783
The St. Bernard (LA) USGenWeb site has a page with the
ship lists of the Canary Island immigrants.
Passenger lists of the ships bringing the Canary Islanders can be found in Din's The Canary Islanders of Louisiana (available from LSU Press). When they arrived, they primarily settled in four areas: Valenzuela, Nueva Iberia, Galveztown, and Terre-aux-Boeuf (San Bernards de Galvez).

Sunshine to Plattenville LA
I have a problem
There are families that settled in Sunshine, Iberville, LA
My families were Belle Rose/Plattenville, Assumption, LA
About 25 mile as the crow flies. 45 miles current highway miles.
Our closest relationshp is 8th!!
I usually am about 6th with anyone in Louisiana.
This implies all the couples we share were in Acadie.
Has anyone run into this before?
I am going to chase the sibs for a couple of generations to see if they are any closer.
Any ideas and Suggestions welcome.
Will share names in later emails.
