Research Techniques: RESEARCH-HOWTO Mailing List
RESEARCH-HOWTO-L
lists2Topic: A list for those who are just getting started in genealogy research and those who are not novices but need information on where to go when "dead ends" are encountered. This list will deal with such things as courts' records, other official documents, ships' logs, genealogy societies, on-line databases, web Pages, mailing lists, historical societies, libraries dedicated to genealogy, locations of LDS Genealogy Centers, and any other subjects that arise in the discussion of Genealogy Tips, Tricks, Methods, Techniques, etc. Surname searches or any other specific ancestor searches are not an appropriate topic for this list.
For questions about this list, contact the list administrator at RESEARCH-HOWTO-admin@rootsweb.com.
- Subscribing. Clicking on one of the shortcut links below should work, but if your browser doesn't understand them, try these manual instructions: to join RESEARCH-HOWTO-L, send mail to RESEARCH-HOWTO-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word subscribe in the message subject and body. To join RESEARCH-HOWTO-D, do the same thing with RESEARCH-HOWTO-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Unsubscribing. To leave RESEARCH-HOWTO-L, send mail to RESEARCH-HOWTO-L-request@rootsweb.com with the single word unsubscribe in the message subject and body. To leave RESEARCH-HOWTO-D, do the same thing with RESEARCH-HOWTO-D-request@rootsweb.com.
- Archives. You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going from one message to another. Some list archives are not available; if there is a link here to an archive but the link doesn't work, it probably just means that no messages have been posted to that list yet.
